A Day at Tangasseri: Exploring History and Building Memories
Thangasseri Lighthouse St. Thomas Fort Commerce As part of our B.Ed curriculum , our batch of Karmela Rani Training College comprising 50 students, along with three teachers, visited Tangasseri , on 22nd August 2025, exploring its rich history and heritage. Our first stop was the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Cathedral , whose serene atmosphere and beautiful architecture gave a peaceful start to our day. Next, we headed to the Tangasseri Lighthouse. Climbing up and seeing the breathtaking view of the sea and coastline was an unforgettable experience. The St. Thomas Fort, with its historic ruins, and the Dutch Cemetery, quiet and reflective, offered a glimpse into the region’s colonial past. Walking through these landmarks made history come alive and gave us a deeper appreciation of our cultural heritage. More than a study trip, the visit became our first real bonding moment as a group.
